Machining and Fabrication

America became an industrial and economic powerhouse in the early to mid-1900s due to its game-changing capabilities in producing, fabricating, and machining various metals.  Much of our restoration and preservation work relies on those same capabilities.  The Foundation's vintage machine and metalworking shops enable us to fabricate and machine numerous essential parts, as we have few options other than making them ourselves since such parts are not commercially available.  We take great pride in using machines that are, in some cases, more than 100 years old to do essentially the same job as today's modern machines.
